Z3 3.0 auto transmission fluid

Hi all,

I plan on changing both my automatic transmission fluid and my rear differential Fluid over the coming weeks and I am struggling to find which automatic transmission fluid type to go for.

Reg checker leads me towards dexron III but the BMW part numer on the sump 83220024359 would indicate dexron VI

Anyone had any experience with this? Mine is a 2002 3.0 auto sport

Look on the gearbox. There is a green sticker which tells you which oil is needed.

Hi Tony thanks for the help. My gearbox just has a part number on it and no fluid type. As I said the part number doesn't match any on the article you just sent me. So I wanted to double check the type.
