What's the best air deflector

Hi all
Am looking to get a air deflector but don't know what one to get or what's out there any thoughts ?
 
I've seen the Perspex ones but don't know how good they are
There is a site in states doing them but just wondered if anyone has one and are they any good ?
 
We're got the mesh one ....... :p
And it's brilliant ;)
But I also wear a Alice band on my hair ( as my hair is quite long ) ;)
 
To be honest they both do a similar job in the way they work, and having either is better than none at all. Having sat in a zed without one the other day it sure reminded me of that fact!

I'm switching my mesh one for perspex as I don't like the way the mesh distorts the headlights behind and night.
 
That's the reason I've left my mesh one on, because it cuts glare from following headlights. Much nicer than without.

I have a clear perspex one haven't tried the mesh one they both do the same job but the difference between the two would be visibility i suppose.
 
We have had both and you cannot get into the top storage box with the perspex one. Useful for storing gloves and hats this weather

I have the OEM mesh one which I like the look of over the perspex one. I haven't any experience of the perspex one in position but I'm sure they will both do the job required of them. It had never crossed my mind about what @GazHyde and @t-tony have said about headlamp glare. That is a fair point and one to consider when making your decision.

This is another annoying thing with the OEM mesh deflector, in that the thick seam at the top of the frame is pretty much in line with following car headlights. I find it distracting when you move your head, or the road dips or rises and it makes the headlights flicker in the rear view mirrors. It's not bright, but just enough to catch out the corner of your eye. Can't explain it any better than that. Only have the mesh one because I picked it up cheap. Looking forwards to trying out the perspex one in comparison.

Fair comment mate, I suppose it depends on your eye level too as to whether it affects your view. There is always the option of tinted Perspex too?
