At the moment it’s 30.9 and it’s only 7.30 , so it’s going to be very hot today ⭐
The grandchildren’s sports day has been cancelled 😳

I spent too long in the sun yesterday that I felt ill afterwards. That’s not a mistake I’ll be repeating especially as the thermometer is set to increase each day as the week progresses. Stay hydrated, everyone! 💦💧

That's warm ! I used to see temperatures like that when I worked in Riyadh.

Some snippets of entirely useless information I now know from working there:

When a Toyota Rav 4 gets to 50C it's temperature gauge will display 4 dashed lines, whereas a Toyota Fortuner will display the numbers.

The reason for that was, when the temperature got to 50C, it was too hot for construction labourers to work, and by law they had to be sent home. Officially, it never got to 50C.

But 46C in the UK - that is Scorchio !

Clocked it was 34 degrees earlier…roll on cooler Sunday! I’m very reliably told that water alone is not enough to replenish the body and that we need to be drinking electrolyte drinks. So you know 💦💧

Yes so hot down here in the Sussex Riviera , I got to a lake just north of Worthing and it was shut , as was two other lakes I tried on my way back home ….
All Lakes Closed as too hot for the fish when out of the water, which is fair enough ….
so I fed the maggots to the birds in the garden when I got home

Hot in the Zedshed Cymru today fitting rear shocks to one of the lads 3.0l followed by a smoke test and replacement of the front lower grill. Much water consumed and a good few breaks in-between.

LMFAO AleNod is 110% correct ... same happens in Kuwait once it hits 50C workers are meant to stop but that had to be the official temp and that gauge was 100% in the shade of a large building in central Kuwait so it never got that hot. UK rail networks grind to a halt with only travel advised if it is essential. UAE officially launches it internal passenger services from Abu Dhabi to Al Hilal and yet the temp here today was 42C .... problem is that the UK built and stressed its railway for a climate that's drifting out from under it and its going to take decades to fix ....... roll out the sticking plasters ....
