For those interested, spotted this car and know nothing about such…looks a kit car and in need of a good body cleanse and polish, imo.

You're right, kit car manufacturer. Nottinghamshire ? I don't know either. Probs a Ford Cortina underneath ?
I guessed as much as to it being a kit car. I suppose it being 46yo you can expect a few niggles on it.

The donor car (probably Cortina mk4 or 5 as said) is 46 years old. The Spartan was probably built more recently. Not very recently, though, as they went under in 1995.
Early cars were usually based on old Triumph Heralds and the like. Marlin and Spartan made very similar cars.

Were the old Triumph Heralds good cars, @Pond? I’ve photos of family members with one and they looked nice cars although small…said from a Z3 owner! 🤣

My old boss had a Spartan built early 80's with the donor car a nearly new Mk5 W/O Cortina 2.0

My first car was a Triumph Herald convertible, bought for £120 in 1972. Not sure how you define "good" but it was a posers delight!!
That explains a lot! It was my Dad whose car it was 🤣🤣🤣
