3.0 Roadster.
Seized water pump on the M66. Both belts ripped to shreds and the fan shroud smashed. I got over as soon as I could with the temp gauge in the red. Hope to god the head gaskets okay!
The RAC were great, on the dolly towards home in an hour from the call.

Mine let go a few years ago on the way back from a gentle drive round Wales :whistle: . 8 miles to go to home, but like you back home within the hour. No serious damage for me luckily just a slightly chipped shroud.
Hope you get yours sorted soon.
 
Stripped down, pump and belts coming tomorrow. I’ll try it without the fan (which is okay) and shroud to see how it goes.

I reckon she will be fine. The M54 is very resilient engine.

Just watch engine temps without the viscous fan. It will rely on the auxillary electric fan to cool, which comes on at around 105c. The viscous keeps the M54 pretty cool IME; around 88c.
I know because I have sat for hours with my scanner attached to test them on live data. Sad I know!
