Hello everyone. My name is Ron and I reside in Weatherford, Texas. I am an 82 y/o widower and BMW newbie.
I'm a retired IT engineer, part time artist and part time writer/publisher.
I have owned many different brands and models of cars throughout my life and most of the time have worked on them myself, which I enjoy. However, I had never owned a BMW, so several months ago while shopping FB marketplace, I found a super clean 750i with 181K miles and needing an alternator. In a short fit of insanity, I purchased that car for $1850 and replaced the alternator and a few other parts, adding a new modern head unit, etc. Car drives like a dream and so far I love it!
However, the insanity didn't end...I also came across a non-running 1997 Z3 which I bought for $1200. Which brings me to here lol. The Z is in great exterior shape, interior needs a redo and I am adding a crankshaft sensor to get it running. This car has 209K mi so getting up there with Mercedes diesel mileage! Not sure if I will keep both or sell one and which one if I do. It is hard to shop at Home Depot with the Z but from what I have been reading and watching about the Z cars I may have to keep it.
So I am sure you will see me here on the forum asking Z questions, so treat me gently!
