Is my z3 worth keeping after extensive work in the engine bay?

Sold! To the keenly optimistic man in the spurs shirt!

But in all seriousness, I think given the advice above, a sale is a long way off, i'm glad to say. How has yours treated you?

Glad you've found a keeper.

My z3 journey started with a LHD 2.8 coupe that I put about 100k on the clock of.

Then started breaking them for fun, now have a nice 2.8 track toy with a box of upgrades waiting to be fitted.

If you've any questions just ask, you'll not stump this forum.

Will do!

Though, if you're breaking them, I might have a few requests later. I'm concerned about rust in the sills, and am in need of a new rear window/roof with a good one in it.

Additionally, I recently had the gear knob off of the stick, and the damn thing was wood! a 12mm dowel. Any idea how common this is, and if you have a spare knob and shifter you could sell me i'd take it!

If you PM me I have a gorgeous black roof with a nearly new zip in window.

I also break. But smaller scale to Spurs Fan ;)

Yeah, I think I just need to resign myself to it, and give in.
Thanks to everyone as well, for being such a welcoming community!

It is often said that we (and that includes you now) are the most social forum around. Anything you could ever wish to know has been discussed on here, and any problems solved on here too.:)

Welcome to the Z3 addicts asylum.
For the winter, if you are taking it off the road, get a trickle charger to keep your battery in good shape, inflate tyres to around 40psi to limit damage to the sidewalls and put a moisture absorber in the cabin. Other than that it may be worth checking when the anti freeze was changed and acting accordingly.
Enjoy your Zed and have a look at the events for next year.

Good advice, thanks. It's being stored outside, so a trickle changer might be difficult, but it gets a regular drive.

Get yerself some long grain rice and put it in stocking, (if you don't wear them ask the Mrs.) ;), best moisture absorber I've used, and, you can re use it over again.
