Believe you need this and outlined procedure will allow to programme it to the car
Hi Antm
Re that fob that you sent details on/for we cant get it to work, opened it up and it only has one battery no flat metal one and layout is not the same, What is yours like ? think that it may be the wrong fob ?? should have got one from a club member but at the time it was the only one that I new of for sale.

I have an all in one key Geoff so can not help on the internals but someone else may be able to answer that one for you

Thanks Antm,
The pic sent by junco, Colin, was not the same it had two batteries and circuit was different, so thinking its a wrong one.

It maybe wrong but just because its different its difficult with out knowing the system is good weather it makes a difference ,if you get me ?
The fob will work at a frequency the idea of the programming is that is learn't by the module in the car even though it looks different it may do the same job.
I imagine a locksmith may be able to check the fob is transmitting and possibly its frequency , they also should be able to advise if it is compatible and if so you know the fault lies else where in the system.

Yes I must find out if it is the fob or the system in the car that is at fault.

One battery, Duracell MN21/23

Thanks Jack, same as mine so fob is the right one must have done something wrong, must try again when I can.

Thanks

Thanks Jim is your Z pre 98 like mine as the fob that I purchased has a worn case and one battery not like the internal pic earlier.

Thanks Andy
It seems some have one Duracell battery and a flat one and some like mine only have one ? I am confused

Indeed, my heated seats are under my subwoofer, most I've seen are at the front. Wednesday car me thinks.

Not understanding what you mean Andy
Sorry Geoff, meaning that the Zed 3 appears to have a number of things that are differant from Zed to Zed. i.e. alarm fobs and interior controls to name but two.

I guess you're meaning the switches are there Andy. In my Z3 the heated seat switches are right next to my knee, you don't have to feel for them, they are right where they need to be, not quite so in the Z4 as they're mounted on the centre console but at the front beyond the ashtray but they do heat up quicker and get hotter to be fair.

Tony.

Yeah, not so much a pain but just fiddly if you're on the move.
