Hi Everyone,

I hope I've posted this in the right place sorry if not.

Forum's are a brilliant place for knowledge, resources and advice for owners (I've probably shot myself in the foot here now mentioning this as I've been on a journey bringing a 944S back to life so time for another project and considering a Z3M so I hope you understand my petrol head passion to continue with another project now),
I'm in the early stages of researching in a view to buy a Z3M roadster 3.2, looking at really that just needs tidying nothing major in mechanicals or body panel damage basically those cars that come up that are unloved and stood for a while. So I was wondering if I could call on someone to basically give a once over in a view to buy (not holding you accountable just a member that understands the car something like me with I gained over the years with my 944)

Location approx Amersham Buckinghamshire

Many Thanks

John

Welcome on the forum, someone with ///M knowledge will be along soon...
Any photos of the 944S? We are all petrol heads on here.

Hi John and welcome, more than happy to help you out, also there's an M owner not far from you who may (or not) jump on with an offer to help too.

I wouldn't be concerned with bodywork damage as long as it doesn't affect the shell.

The body can be stripped quite easily and donor parts are available from salvage...

There are enough donor cars available to be able to sort most mechanical parts, although sourcing M-specific parts can be challenging, it can be done quite cheaply (cash cheap, time expensive).

:welcome: Hi and welcome from me too :coolsteer)

Hi @Mint :p
I see you Disagree with my welcome post :(
Maybe it's a mistake ;)
Hope you and Pauline are well :)

To everyone giving me a hello.....Well I'm quite taken make from all the amount of quick reply's thats even without
me giving a introduction about me!

As said I'm chewing over the purchase of a Z3M in a view to get it decent over a period of time, so I don't want to leap into a dark void without some sort of investigation/thinking, its so easy to lead with the heart not the brain!
I'm a hands on guy across various skills but can't weld or spray otherwise can deal with most mechanical's, electrics to basic diagnostics up to the year 2000 I suppose.
I have to say probably like others similar to me have found forums incredibly important for support and down to social events.

Thank you again

John

Well this is what its all about, the 944 (sort of a barn find) took 7 years with odd weekends getting the old girl tidy and reliable, so in June this year took my son on a road trip 8 days across Europe about 2300 miles covered and made it there and back to the Stelvio Pass Italy that was one of my wishes along with Colditz Castle just on of many site quickly visited on route.

Bit of video to watch here:
sorry tried to add vimeo but its not allowed, is there a preferred site for video that can be used on the forum
