I tried almost everything
1. Be pump and sending unit
2. Test the wires and made sure nothing from the gauge to the tank was cut
3. Checked the fuses and made sure nothing was blown
4. Pulled the gauge cluster out and apart and cleaned the connections on the fuel gauge.
help me please.

Probably the fuel level sender unit itself, Same happened to me a while back, the plate that picks up the float contractors in the unit was fouled, but fortunately not cactus. a clean up solved my problem. It requires pulling the unit out of the tank though... Does your cluster respond to an instrument self test ?

I’ve pulled it out and put a new sender in and still nothing
When I do the gauge test by going to 15 wait for off then go to 6 I get 00 ff
The tank is about half way full

Mines a Z3 1999, I can only be specific about the issue I had I'm sorry.. There are a bunch of great helpful genies arses here that may offer more.. It took me a while to figure out what was going too, but now its working, its great not to rely on my trip meter. ;)

fair enough if anyone on here could help me at all that would be great because I feel like I’m at the point of a new cluster

00ff, looks like a hex code to me. as I said maybe someone else can help.. Good Luck, I hope it's an easy fix...

Update, so I was driving the car today and all the sudden the whole cluster just shut off and the car was still running and driving plus the radio was still on. The car was functioning %100 normal but the gauge were looking like the car was off. My first guess was I blew a fuse - no fuses were blown. Then I checked the battery, she was all good.
now I’m lost. Is it time for a new cluster?
