Trouble is now if you want to repair you will need to remove some powder coat, apply heat to the base of the arm and give it a good twist.

Get yourself a bottle of acetylene :)

The damage was likely caused by a side impact, very unlikely to be caused by being dropped.
 
I agree with Lee, if it could be bent just by being dropped it wouldn't last very long on a car. Which means it must've been bent before it was powder coated and sent to you Malc. Have you approached the seller in the US about it?

Found the supplier and replied via ebay.
with pictures

See if they bother to reply now.

Found a replacement for £220 …. But not seen any pictures of it yet so will hold off at the moment.
 
Dont know why …. But sprayed the doors and rear wing today where they had been primed.

used a breaker bar and two lugnuts to stop it turning when I torqued up the drive shaft.

could have put the brakes back but no point rushing now …..

Got some enquiries out for an offside trailing arm so just have to wait ☹️
 
Hi Malc, did you get sorted for the trailing arm? Just seen this and thought they may have one you could use?
