Just bought a 2000 Z3 Roadster to play around with. It’s in reasonable shape, but there will be a few projects to work on. Other than the visible body work, which I can DIY, what else should I anticipate? Any common issues or maintenance I should consider outside the basics?
 
:welcome: to the Forum from West Cumbria, England. The cooling system would be a good place to start as these great cars are getting on a bit. Water Pump etc.
 
Hi and welcome from London the suspension bushes go on them if they have not been replaced yet.
 
:welcome: Depending on climate some of the corrosion items may not be an issue

All roof drains including under the scuttle (check not blocked)
Water pump
Thermostat
Viscous clutch
Front wishbones & bushes
All bushes (including rear beam)
Power steering pipes corrosion
Fuel tank straps
Door handle gaskets
Third brake light gasket
Arial grommet
All intake rubber pipes and hoses
CCV
springs and shocks & top mounts
Check for trapped muck at the front and rear of the sill covers (big corrosion area)

Rost on the motor hood
Check the frame of the rear axle
sill Covers front and below
sills get sealed with hot grease to avoid rost
