This covers the differences on later BMW Z3's with the central storage box.
To remove the inner torx bolts that hold the hoops in place you need to remove the trim shown - it slides upwards, try not to just yank it away!

The other 2 are in the same place (behing the panel here
The hoops then lift straight up (with a hefty pull!)
